Muscles at work
Make every rep count.
- 01
Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand, arms relaxed at your sides, palms facing in. Set your feet shoulder-width and keep them planted.
- 02
Brace your core, keep your chest up, back neutral, and eyes forward.
- 03
Slowly side-bend to the right by hinging at your torso only—let the right dumbbell slide down your thigh while the left stays close to your body. Go as far as you can without twisting or leaning forward.
- 04
Squeeze your obliques to return to center, then immediately side-bend to the left.
- 05
Continue alternating sides for your reps with smooth, controlled tempo.
- 06
Form cues
- 07
Think “straight line”: no rounding, no arching, no rotation.
- 08
Keep the dumbbells close to your legs and move only side-to-side.
- 09
Focus on the stretch on the lowering side and the contraction as you come back up.
- 10
*Option:* You can also do these seated on the end of a bench—same posture and side-bend mechanics.
