Muscles at work
Make every rep count.
- 01
Grab a pull-up bar (or any sturdy overhead support) with an overhand grip and hang tall. Pull your shoulders down and back (don’t shrug) and brace your core.
- 02
Start with legs together and straight, feet slightly in front of you to eliminate swinging.
- 03
Slowly lift your straight legs by curling your pelvis up, aiming to raise them as high as you can without losing control.
- 04
Pause briefly at the top while keeping your torso steady.
- 05
Lower your legs under control back to the start—no dropping, no swinging.
- 06
Repeat for your target reps.
- 07
Form & safety cues
- 08
Control the tempo: if you’re swinging, you’re using momentum instead of your abs.
- 09
Keep your body quiet—think “still torso, moving legs.”
- 10
Progression: advanced lifters can hold a light dumbbell between the feet, but only if you can stay strict and stable.
