Make every rep count.

  1. 01

Attach a straight bar or EZ bar to the low pulley and choose an appropriate weight.

  2. 02

Grab the bar with an overhand (reverse) grip, hands shoulder-width or slightly inside.

  3. 03

Stand tall with your chest up, shoulders down/back, and elbows pinned to your sides.

  4. 04

Step back just enough to take the slack out of the cable so the stack lifts slightly—this is your start.

  5. 05

    Perform the curl

  6. 06

Without letting your elbows drift forward, curl the bar up under control as high as you can.

  7. 07

Squeeze at the top for a brief pause.

  8. 08

Lower slowly to full extension, keeping tension on the cable (don’t let the stack slam).

  9. 09

Form tips: Keep your wrists fairly neutral (don’t overly bend them), avoid swinging your torso, and use a weight that lets you move smoothly through every rep.
