Muscles at work
Make every rep count.
- 01
Lie on a mat and bring your knees up so your hips and knees are bent to about 90° (shins parallel to the floor).
- 02
Stack your hands together with arms straight up over your chest, palms facing your feet.
- 03
Brace your core and gently tuck your ribs down.
- 04
Lift your head and shoulder blades a few inches off the mat (keep your lower back in contact with the floor).
- 05
Keeping your arms stacked, rotate through your torso and reach your hands to the left, then rotate to the right—move with control, not momentum.
- 06
Return to center and lower your shoulder blades back to the mat.
- 07
Repeat for the prescribed reps.
- 08
Coaching cues / options
- 09
The higher you lift your shoulder blades, the more challenging it gets—only lift as high as you can while staying controlled.
- 10
To progress, hold a dumbbell/weight with both hands (keep shoulders down and avoid yanking your neck).
