Make every rep count.

  1. 01

Set an incline bench and lie back with your feet firmly planted. Grip the bar about shoulder-width (close, but not overly narrow).

  2. 02

Lock in your upper back: pinch your shoulder blades together and drive them down into the bench. Keep your chest “proud.”

  3. 03

Take a big breath and brace. Have a spotter assist with the liftoff so you don’t lose tightness.

  4. 04

Let the bar settle over your upper chest while you stay tight—shoulders pinned, wrists stacked over elbows.

  5. 05

Lower under control: unlock your elbows and bring the bar straight down to the base of your sternum, lightly touching your chest.

  6. 06

Press straight up: drive your feet into the floor for leg drive, press your body into the bench, and extend your elbows until lockout.

  7. 07

Reset your breath and brace each rep, and repeat for your target reps.
