Make every rep count.

  1. 01

Set the bar over your shoelaces and stand hip-width, feet flat and stable.

  2. 02

Hinge at the hips: push your hips back and tip forward until your torso is close to parallel with the floor.

  3. 03

Grab the bar just outside your legs with a shoulder-width, double-overhand grip.

  4. 04

Get tight: neutral spine, chest long, shins vertical, and hips about level with your shoulders.

  5. 05

Stand up by driving through your whole foot—think “push the floor away.” Keep the bar close and moving in a straight line.

  6. 06

Finish tall with your hips fully locked out (don’t lean back).

  7. 07

Control the return: hips back first, then hinge down, keeping the bar close.

  8. 08

Touch the bar to the floor, reset your brace and position, and repeat.
