Make every rep count.

  1. 01

Grab the pull-up bar with an overhand (pronated) grip, hands about shoulder-width.

  2. 02

Take a deep breath, squeeze your glutes and brace your abs to keep your body tight.

  3. 03

Set your shoulders first: pull your shoulder blades down (avoid shrugging).

  4. 04

Start the pull by driving your elbows straight down toward the floor and think about using your lats, not your biceps.

  5. 05

Continue until your chin reaches the bar and you feel your lats fully engaged.

  6. 06

Lower with control back to a dead hang, keeping your shoulders stable—then repeat for the prescribed reps.
